Lambrate Park District

Synopsis

The Lambrate Park District project was conceived as an entry for the C40 Reinventing Cities competition, within the framework of the urban redevelopment initiative for disused railway areas in the Municipality of Milan. This specific site is integral to a strategic regeneration plan encompassing seven railway areas, overseen by the Municipality of Milan, the Region of Lombardy, and select companies within the Italian State Railways Group. An agreement among stakeholders involves redirecting investments from area development to enhance railway services in Milan.

At its core, the Lambrate Park District embodies a vision of future cities through an urban experiment in sustainability, emphasizing both individual and collective contributions towards sustainable living. By pioneering innovative solutions, the project provides residents with opportunities to coexist harmoniously with the environment. Recognizing the significance of collective action and awareness, the project fosters a sense of ownership among residents, encouraging them to actively engage in shaping a sustainable future within the district.

In essence, the Lambrate Park District serves as a blueprint for sustainable urban living, wherein residents play dual roles as both protagonists and beneficiaries of change. More than just an extension of Lambrate, the district represents a noteworthy addition to Milan's urban landscape, distinguished by its commitment to sustainability and distinctive urban design.
